What you need to know…
You are welcome in our family.
You are a real person, living a real life, with real joys and real concerns. So are we. Your long term health and growth are dependent on the connections you have with others. So are ours. You need real people to look into your real eyes to share real thoughts about the real things that are going on in their lives with you, and who will listen to you do the same. So do we.
We are a group of men, women, and children (yes, that’s a real picture of us above) who deeply value the connections we have with each other, with our neighbors, and with God, and we want to invite you to jump in with us as we lean into the grace that changes everything.
We haven’t officially ‘launched’ yet, but we’re meeting as a small group of men, women, and children in a home on Sunday nights @ 5pm, building relationships and preparing for a launch this fall. (More on this below, if you’re curious.)
What might be nice to know…
Here’s our current timeline.*
Fall 2018 | Move in, pray earnestly, and build relationships
In October 2018, we began meeting in a home in Knollwood Village, which is in the Southwest corner of inner-610-loop Houston, with the dream of bringing a warmly hospitable and loving community like this to this part of the city. Since then, we have been praying together, meeting neighbors, and preparing for the launch of our core team season towards launch.
Fall 2019 | build Core team, neighborhood events, vision nights
In fall of 2019 (September/October), we will host our first official neighborhood night, giving our best attempt at getting the word out and inviting folks in, so that you and our other neighbors can get a little taste of what we’re trying to do. From this point, we’ll be building our team into a multiplying family of families with an eye towards launching Sojourn Braeswood Church on Sundays.
mid-Late 2020 | Sunday launch, fireworks and confetti (kidding. probably some donuts though.)
In early-mid 2020, our plan is to begin searching for a permanent rental space that we can start meeting in come summer- or autumn-time. At that point, we’ll again give our best attempt at getting the word out and inviting folks in, with an to see what God might do!
*Important note: you are welcome to jump into community with us at any time during this process. No need to wait until the ‘next’ thing. Curious? Shoot our pastor an email.
